The EPB/MPB-504 Heat Detector by Chemtronics is an explosion-proof fire detection device designed for hazardous and industrial environments. The EPB/MPB-504 Heat Detector provides reliable fixed-temperature sensing for areas where smoke detection may not be suitable. Therefore, it is commonly used in harsh conditions where safety and durability are critical requirements.

EPB/MPB-504 Heat Detector Explosion-Proof Design

The EPB/MPB-504 Heat Detector is engineered with a heavy-duty cast metal enclosure that supports explosion-proof operation. As a result, it can be installed in classified hazardous locations where flammable gases, vapors, or dust may be present. In addition, its sealed construction helps protect internal components from environmental exposure and mechanical damage.

Fixed Temperature Fire Detection

This detector operates using a fixed-temperature sensing element. Consequently, it activates when ambient heat reaches a preset threshold, providing dependable fire detection in high-risk environments. Moreover, this method is especially effective in areas with high levels of dust, smoke, or airborne contaminants where traditional smoke detectors may not perform reliably.

Industrial and Hazardous Location Use

The EPB/MPB-504 Heat Detector is designed for use in Class I and Class II hazardous locations, including environments with combustible gases or dust. Therefore, it is suitable for oil and gas facilities, chemical plants, and industrial processing areas. Furthermore, its rugged design ensures consistent performance in demanding operating conditions.

Durable Cast Metal Construction

The detector features a precision-machined metal housing with sealed wiring entries. As a result, it provides long-term durability and resistance to corrosion, vibration, and environmental stress. In addition, its robust design helps maintain reliable operation in extreme industrial settings.

Reliable Fire Protection Performance

The EPB/MPB-504 Heat Detector is part of a series designed for both rate-of-rise and fixed temperature detection options across similar models. However, the 504 variant focuses on fixed temperature activation for stable and predictable fire response. Therefore, it offers a dependable solution for applications requiring consistent thermal protection.
