Simplex 4098-5613 Heat, 200°F Detector

Simplex 4098-5613 Heat Detector (200°F): Reliable Thermal Detection for Harsh Environments

The Simplex 4098-5613 Heat Detector is a dual-sensing thermal device that offers both rate-of-rise and fixed temperature detection for dependable fire protection. Designed to activate at 200°F, it is ideal for environments where smoke detection may not be suitable, such as high-heat, dusty, or humid areas.

Key Features

Rate-of-Rise and Fixed Temperature Sensing
Combines two heat detection methods in one unit. It quickly responds to sudden increases in temperature and also activates when the surrounding temperature reaches 200°F, ensuring comprehensive fire detection coverage.

Fixed 200°F Threshold
Activates at a preset 200°F (93°C), making it perfect for use in mechanical rooms, industrial zones, and areas with high ambient heat levels.

Fast Response Rate-of-Rise Function
Detects temperature increases of 15°F per minute or more, allowing the system to respond swiftly to rapidly developing fires, even before reaching the fixed set point.

IDNet and MAPNET II Compatibility
Fully addressable and compatible with Simplex IDNet or MAPNET II communication protocols. Enables individual identification, monitoring, and system-wide integration with Simplex fire alarm control panels.

Compact, Low-Profile Design
Modern housing blends well into both industrial and commercial settings, offering reliable performance with minimal visual impact.

Durable Construction
Engineered for long-term use in harsh environments where smoke or dust may interfere with conventional detection systems.

Application and Usage

The Simplex 4098-5613 is ideal for use in areas where smoke detectors may generate false alarms, such as:

• Boiler rooms

• Parking garages

• Commercial kitchens

• Manufacturing plants

• Mechanical and electrical rooms

It ensures accurate heat detection in spaces exposed to steam, dust, or heat without compromising safety.

Installation Tips

• Mount on compatible Simplex bases according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

• Ensure a secure connection to IDNet or MAPNET II for proper addressability and control panel communication.

• Install away from ventilation ducts and direct airflow to avoid a delayed response.

• Regularly test and inspect the unit as part of routine fire safety maintenance.

Advantages

• Dual Detection: Offers both rate-of-rise and fixed temperature protection for broader coverage.

• Reliable in Harsh Settings: Performs where smoke detectors may be ineffective.

• Addressable Functionality: Integrates seamlessly with Simplex panels for enhanced monitoring and diagnostics.

• Reduced False Alarms: Minimizes nuisance activations in dusty or steamy conditions.

• Long-Term Durability: Built for rugged environments with high performance over time.
