The Mircom MIX-5351RAP Intelligent Rate-of-Rise Heat Detector provides addressable thermal detection for compatible Mircom fire alarm systems. It combines a 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature alarm point with rate-of-rise detection, providing protection against both high temperatures and rapidly developing heat conditions. Mircom identifies the MIX-5351RAP as the UL-listed fixed-temperature model with rate-of-rise detection in its Select Series.
The detector uses a thermistor sensing circuit for fast response and supports both Mircom Advanced Protocol (AP) and CLIP communication. Its low-profile plug-in design, rotary addressing, low standby current, and dual LEDs make it suitable for commercial and institutional fire alarm applications.
Fixed Temperature and Rate-of-Rise Detection
The MIX-5351RAP provides 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature detection and responds when temperature rises at more than 15°F per minute (8.3°C per minute). This allows the detector to respond to a rapid increase in temperature before the fixed-temperature threshold is reached.
Mircom specifies the detector for open-area protection with 50-foot spacing capability where permitted by its UL 521 listing and applicable installation requirements.

Electrical and Environmental Specifications
The Mircom MIX-5351RAP operates from 15 to 32 VDC and draws approximately 200 µA at 24 VDC during normal operation. Maximum alarm current is 2 mA at 24 VDC, while maximum current is specified at 4.5 mA at 24 VDC.
For fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise operation, the installation temperature range is -4°F to 115°F (-20°C to 47°C). The operating humidity range is 10% to 93% relative humidity, non-condensing.
