The Fire-Lite H365-IV Addressable Heat Detector is an intelligent fixed-temperature thermal detector designed exclusively for compatible Fire-Lite addressable fire alarm control panels. It uses advanced thermistor technology for fast thermal response and provides individual point identification through rotary decimal addressing.
The -IV version is finished in ivory and supports both LiteSpeed and CLIP communication, making it suitable for newer and legacy-compatible Fire-Lite addressable systems. Honeywell identifies the H365 Series as the direct replacement for the older H355 Series.

135°F Fixed-Temperature Detection
The H365-IV is specifically a:
Fixed Thermal Detector
with an alarm temperature of:
135°F / approximately 57°C.
Unlike the H365R-IV, the H365-IV does not add rate-of-rise detection. It responds when its thermal sensing element reaches the specified fixed-temperature threshold.
This makes it appropriate for applications where smoke detection may not be suitable but temperature-based fire detection is required.
Thermistor Technology
The detector uses state-of-the-art thermistor technology to provide rapid response to temperature changes.
The thermistor continuously monitors ambient temperature and communicates detector status through the Fire-Lite addressable signaling line circuit.
This electronic sensing architecture provides more precise operation than simple mechanical heat detection methods.
LiteSpeed & CLIP Compatibility
The ivory H365-IV supports both:
LiteSpeed
and
CLIP communication protocols.
This is an important difference between the ivory and standard white versions:
H365: White, LiteSpeed only
H365-IV: Ivory, LiteSpeed and CLIP.
CLIP compatibility allows the H365-IV to work with a broader range of legacy Fire-Lite addressable systems.
Addressable Point Identification
Each H365-IV detector is assigned an individual address using rotary decimal switches.
This Point ID capability allows the fire alarm control panel to identify the exact detector location reporting an alarm or trouble condition.
The number of supported devices depends on the specific Fire-Lite control panel and signaling line circuit configuration.
LED Status Indication
The H365 Series incorporates two LEDs that provide a 360-degree viewing angle.
Published Honeywell information states:
Normal: LEDs blink red
Alarm: LEDs remain steady red.
The dual-LED arrangement allows detector status to be seen from multiple viewing directions.
Magnetic Functional Test
The H365-IV includes a built-in functional test switch that can be activated using an external magnet.
This allows technicians to perform a local functional check without applying an actual heat source to the detector.
The fire alarm system should still be tested according to the applicable inspection and maintenance procedures.
Detector Base Compatibility
The H365-IV uses separate Fire-Lite intelligent detector bases.
Compatible base options include standard bases and specialty configurations such as:
- Standard bases
- Relay bases
- Isolator bases
- Sounder bases
- Low-frequency sounder bases
Fire-Lite specifically offers ivory base versions to match ivory 365 Series detectors.
For example:
B300-6-IV: Ivory 6-inch standard intelligent base.
The required base should be selected according to the fire alarm system and application requirements.
