Notifier FST-751R Thermal Heat Detector

The Notifier FST-751R is an intelligent addressable heat detector designed to provide dependable thermal fire detection in commercial fire alarm systems.

The detector uses dual electronic thermistors to monitor temperature and communicates its type, status, and heat-sensing information to a compatible Notifier fire alarm control panel. Its addressable design allows each detector to be individually identified during alarm, testing, and system supervision.

Heat Detection Performance

The FST-751R uses dual electronic thermistors for thermal sensing. The detector is UL approved for spacing up to 50 feet (15.24 meters) center-to-center and FM approved for 25 × 25 feet (7.62 × 7.62 meters) spacing. Actual installation spacing should follow the approved system design and applicable fire alarm requirements.

Addressing & Communication

The FST-751R operates as an intelligent device on the fire alarm control panel signaling line circuit. The FST Series supports up to 159 device addresses on compatible systems, with up to 99 addresses on traditional systems.

During normal operation, the control panel regularly polls the detector. The FST-751R responds with its device type and current status, including information from its thermal sensing elements. This addressable communication allows the control panel to identify the exact detector reporting an alarm or abnormal condition.

Testing & Maintenance

The FST-751R supports electronic functional testing initiated from a compatible fire alarm control panel. When a test command is received, the detector stimulates its internal electronics and reports an alarm-level condition back to the system. These capabilities simplify routine inspection and testing without requiring activation of the fixed-temperature threshold.

Detector Base Options

The FST-751R uses a plug-in detector design and can be installed on compatible Notifier detector bases. Documented options include the B710LP flanged base and B501 flangeless base, along with specialized relay and isolator base configurations.

Physical & Environmental Information

The detector is approximately 1.66 inches (42.16 mm) high and weighs approximately 5 ounces (150 g). Installed diameter is approximately 6.1 inches with the B710LP base or 4.1 inches with the B501 base.

The specified operating temperature range is -4°F to 100°F (-20°C to 38°C) with an operating humidity range of 10% to 93% relative humidity, noncondensing.
