Photoelectric Smoke Detection
The MIX-2251B uses a specialized optical sensing chamber designed to detect smoke produced by a wide variety of combustion sources.
Photoelectric technology provides effective detection of visible smoke particles, including those commonly associated with slow, smoldering fires.
Intelligent Addressable Operation
The detector incorporates an integral communications module that continuously communicates its condition to the compatible Mircom fire alarm control panel.
Individual Point ID capability allows the system to identify the exact detector reporting an alarm or maintenance condition.
Rotary Addressing
The MIX-2251B uses rotary decade address switches.
The detector address is selected directly at the device, providing straightforward identification during commissioning, servicing, and replacement.
Sensitivity Monitoring
Detector sensitivity is continuously monitored and reported to the compatible fire alarm control panel.
The control system can identify when contamination within the sensing chamber reaches an unacceptable level, helping maintenance personnel identify detectors requiring cleaning or service.
LED Status Indication
The MIX-2251B incorporates dual status LEDs.
The LEDs provide local indication of detector communication and alarm conditions, allowing technicians to quickly verify detector operation during system testing and troubleshooting.
Compatible Detector Bases
Compatible bases include:
B501 — Intelligent Flangeless Mounting Base
B210LP — Intelligent Flanged Mounting Base
B224RB — Intelligent Relay Base
B224BI — Intelligent Isolator Base
B200SR — Intelligent Sounder Base.
