The Bosch F220-B6 is a standard two-wire detector base designed for use with Bosch F220 Series smoke and heat detectors. The Bosch F220-B6 provides a reliable mounting platform and electrical interface for conventional fire alarm systems operating on either 12VDC or 24VDC initiating device circuits. Therefore, it serves as an essential component for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential fire alarm installations requiring dependable detector connectivity.
Bosch F220-B6 Function
The F220-B6 is engineered to provide mechanical mounting and electrical connection for compatible Bosch F220 Series detector heads. As a result, smoke and heat detectors can be integrated into conventional two-wire fire alarm systems while maintaining reliable alarm communication and supervision. In addition, the base supports detector replacement and servicing without requiring rewiring of the fire alarm circuit.
Two-Wire Conventional Fire Alarm Design
The Bosch F220-B6 is specifically designed for use on two-wire initiating device circuits (IDC). Consequently, power and alarm signaling are carried on the same pair of wires, simplifying installation and reducing wiring costs. Furthermore, the two-wire configuration allows efficient integration into compatible conventional fire alarm control panels.
12VDC and 24VDC Compatibility
The F220-B6 supports operation on both 12VDC and 24VDC fire alarm systems. Therefore, installers can use the same detector base across a variety of projects and control panel configurations. Additionally, dual-voltage compatibility simplifies inventory management and maintenance planning.
Compatible Bosch F220 Series Detectors
The Bosch F220-B6 is compatible with a variety of Bosch detector heads, including:
- F220-P Photoelectric Smoke Detector
- F220-PTH Smoke Detector with Heat Sensor
- F220-PTHC Smoke Detector with Heat and CO Enhancement
- F220-135 Rate-of-Rise and Fixed Temperature Heat Detector
- F220-135F Fixed Temperature Heat Detector
- F220-190F High Temperature Heat Detector
Consequently, the base provides flexibility for a wide range of fire detection applications while maintaining consistent installation practices.
Remote Alarm Annunciator Support
The F220-B6 supports the optional Bosch DRA-5 remote alarm annunciator. As a result, alarm conditions can be indicated remotely when detectors are installed above ceilings, within secured spaces, or in areas with limited visibility. Furthermore, remote annunciation simplifies alarm identification and maintenance activities.
Simplified Installation and Maintenance
The Bosch F220-B6 features a low-profile design and interchangeable detector compatibility. Therefore, detector heads can be replaced or upgraded without changing the installed base. Additionally, the base is designed for quick installation and long-term reliability in demanding fire alarm environments.
Conventional Fire Alarm System Applications
