Mircom MIX-2000 Intelligent 4 Inch Mounting Base

The Mircom MIX-2000 Intelligent Mounting Base is a standard 4-inch flangeless detector base designed for compatible Mircom intelligent addressable smoke and heat detectors. Its low-profile construction provides a clean installation while supporting Mircom’s MIX-3000 Series detector family.

The MIX-2000 uses Mircom’s MIX-ADD address card system, which stores detector location information in the mounting base. As a result, compatible detectors can be replaced without requiring the location address to be manually recreated at the detector.

Intelligent Detector Mounting Base

The Mircom MIX-2000 provides the physical and electrical mounting point for compatible intelligent addressable detectors. Mircom identifies it as a 4-inch standard base with no flange, making it suitable for installations where a compact mounting profile is preferred.

Its design allows compatible detectors to plug directly into the base while maintaining their connection to the addressable fire alarm circuit.

MIX-ADD Address Card Technology

A major feature of the MIX-2000 is its use of the MIX-ADD address card. Instead of storing the detector’s location information exclusively in the detector itself, a coded address card is inserted into the mounting base.

When a compatible Alpha Series detector is installed, it reads the address from the card. Therefore, technicians can replace a detector while retaining its assigned location information, helping simplify maintenance and reduce addressing errors.

Compatible Intelligent Detectors

The Mircom MIX-2000 has a diameter of approximately 4 inches (102 mm) and features a flangeless design. Mircom specifies an environmental temperature range of 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C) and a humidity range of 10% to 93% RH, noncondensing for the mounting base series.
