System Sensor OSY2 Supervisory Switch

The System Sensor OSY2 Outside Screw and Yoke Valve Supervisory Switch is designed to monitor the open position of OS&Y fire sprinkler control valves. When the valve moves away from its normal fully open position, the OSY2 changes contact state and sends a supervisory signal to the connected fire alarm system.

The OSY2 uses a rugged weatherproof die-cast housing and two SPDT Form C switches. It is designed for indoor or outdoor sprinkler-system applications and can be used on most OS&Y gate valves ranging from 1 to 12 inches.

The actuator monitors movement of the valve stem. The switch is adjusted to operate when the valve moves from its normal fully open position.

The manufacturer specifies operation within approximately:

Two revolutions of the valve control

or when the valve stem has moved no more than:

One-fifth of its total travel

from the normal position.
