Janus Fire System 18773 Discharge Pressure Switch

The Janus Fire System 18773 Discharge Pressure Switch is a pressure-activated monitoring device designed for use with Janus clean agent and fire suppression systems. The Janus Fire System 18773 Pressure Switch provides positive confirmation of agent discharge and initiates auxiliary shutdown functions for protected equipment. Therefore, it plays a critical role in ensuring proper system response during a fire suppression event.

Janus Fire System 18773 Pressure Switch Function

The Pressure Switch activates when discharge pressure is detected within the suppression system piping. As a result, it provides a positive indication that the extinguishing agent has been released. In addition, the switch can be used to activate auxiliary functions such as equipment shutdown, HVAC shutdown, alarm signaling, or monitoring system inputs.

Positive Agent Discharge Verification

This pressure switch is installed on the discharge piping network to monitor suppression system operation. Consequently, facility personnel and fire alarm control equipment receive confirmation that agent discharge has occurred. Moreover, positive discharge verification helps support post-event analysis and system supervision.

SPDT Contact Configuration

This Pressure Switch utilizes a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) contact arrangement. Therefore, it can provide both normally open and normally closed outputs for flexible integration with fire alarm panels, building management systems, and equipment control circuits. Furthermore, the switch contacts are rated at 10 Amps resistive at 30 VDC.

Equipment Shutdown Applications

One of the primary functions of the pressure switch is to initiate shutdown of equipment that could affect agent concentration levels. As a result, ventilation systems, process equipment, and other devices can be automatically controlled when suppression agent discharge occurs. Additionally, this functionality helps maintain extinguishing agent effectiveness within the protected space.

Durable Industrial Construction

The Janus Fire System 18773 Pressure Switch is designed for use in demanding fire suppression environments.
