Edwards SIGA-MP2 Signature Module Mounting Plate

The Edwards SIGA-MP2 Signature Module Mounting Plate provides a convenient way to install multiple Signature Series modules inside compatible Edwards and EST fire alarm equipment enclosures. Its compact half-footprint design helps organize system modules while reducing the need for separate electrical gang boxes.

Signature Series Module Mounting

The Edwards SIGA-MP2 is a flat aluminum mounting plate designed for use with compatible Signature Series modules. It installs inside standard Edwards equipment enclosures and provides dedicated mounting positions for multiple devices.

The plate can hold up to two larger Signature modules. Alternatively, installers can use it for up to four smaller modules. Therefore, the plate provides flexible mounting options for different fire alarm system configurations.

Supported Module Configurations

The mounting plate supports several legacy Signature Series devices. Larger compatible modules include models such as SIGA-CC1, SIGA-CC2, and SIGA-UM.

For smaller devices, the plate can support models such as SIGA-CR, SIGA-MM1, SIGA-WTM, CT-1, and CT-2. In addition, installers can combine compatible module types on the same mounting plate when the physical configuration permits.

This flexibility helps technicians organize interface, relay, monitor, and control modules within a common enclosure.

Dimensions and Construction

The Edwards SIGA-MP2 measures approximately 8.25 inches long by 2.75 inches wide. The plate uses approximately 1/8-inch aluminum construction.

Its listed weight is approximately 0.45 lb (0.2 kg). Therefore, it adds minimal weight while providing a secure mounting surface for multiple Signature modules.

The mounting plate occupies one 1/2 standard module footprint inside the enclosure.

Enclosure Installation

The mounting plate installs in an available OPTION module position inside a compatible standard enclosure. Installers can place it on either the left or right interior side, depending on the enclosure configuration.

The plate snaps onto two stand-offs inside the enclosure. As a result, technicians can install the plate without a separate gang box.

Before attaching compatible SIGA modules, technicians remove the standard black mounting frame from each applicable module. The module’s snap tabs then lock into the openings on the mounting plate.

Typical Applications

This mounting accessory is useful in Edwards Signature Series fire alarm installations where several interface modules need to share the same cabinet.

For example, technicians may use it to organize relay modules, control modules, monitor modules, and other compatible Signature devices. The compact layout can also simplify service access and reduce enclosure clutter.

The plate can be especially useful when maintaining existing EST2, EST3, or other compatible legacy Signature installations that already use this mounting architecture.

Installation Considerations

Always verify enclosure compatibility and available footprint space before installation. Also, confirm that each selected Signature module physically fits the mounting plate.

Disconnect system power before installing or removing the mounting plate or attached modules. In addition, follow the installation sheet for each individual SIGA module when completing field wiring.

Qualified fire alarm professionals should install and service the assembly. Finally, technicians should follow Edwards documentation and applicable system requirements.

Overall, this Edwards Signature mounting plate provides a simple and organized solution for installing multiple compatible modules inside a common fire alarm enclosure. Its half-footprint design, aluminum construction, and flexible module capacity make it a practical accessory for compatible Edwards and EST systems.
