The Mircom MIX-2351TAP Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke and Heat Detector provides multi-sensor fire detection for compatible Mircom addressable fire alarm systems. It combines a photoelectric smoke sensing chamber with 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature thermal detection, allowing a single device to monitor both smoke density and temperature conditions.
Part of Mircom’s Select Series, the MIX-2351TAP uses Advanced Protocol communication for high-speed communication with compatible fire alarm control equipment. Its low-profile plug-in design, rotary addressing, dual LEDs, and low standby current make it suitable for commercial and institutional fire alarm installations.
Photoelectric and Thermal Detection
The MIX-2351TAP combines photoelectric smoke detection with dual electronic thermistors for 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature heat detection. The sensor transmits an analog representation of smoke density and temperature to the compatible fire alarm control panel.
This multi-sensor design allows the system to monitor both smoke and thermal conditions from a single addressable detector.
Key Features
- Intelligent photoelectric and thermal detection
- 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature heat sensing

Electrical and Environmental Specifications
The Mircom MIX-2351TAP operates from 15 to 32 VDC with an operating current of approximately 200 µA at 24 VDC. Maximum alarm current is 2 mA at 24 VDC, while maximum current is rated at 4.5 mA at 24 VDC.
The detector supports an operating humidity range of 10% to 93% non-condensing. Mircom’s current Select Series datasheet specifies an operating temperature range of 32°F to 100°F (0°C to 38°C) for photoelectric detectors with thermal sensing.
Low-Profile Detector Design
The MIX-2351TAP measures approximately 2.0 inches high when installed on a B300-6 base. Its diameter is approximately 6.2 inches with a B300-6 base or 4.1 inches with a B501 base, and the detector weighs approximately 3.4 oz. (95 g).
Compatible options include standard flanged and flangeless bases as well as selected sounder, isolator, and relay bases, providing flexibility for different fire alarm applications.
Addressable Status Monitoring
Rotary address switches provide individual point identification, allowing the compatible fire alarm panel to identify the exact detector location. Dual LEDs provide 360-degree visual indication for communication and detector status.
The detector’s combination of addressable smoke and temperature information can also support temperature display functions for compatible systems, including temperature ranges used for Fire Service Access Elevator applications.
