Edwards SIGA-CC1 Single Input Signal Module

The Edwards SIGA-CC1 Single Input Signal Module is an intelligent addressable output module designed for compatible Edwards Signature Series fire alarm systems. It provides a supervised Class B notification appliance circuit (NAC) for controlling compatible polarized audible and visible signaling devices.

The SIGA-CC1 receives commands through the Signature data loop and switches an external 24VDC power source to the connected notification circuit. Its onboard microprocessor provides intelligent communication, electronic addressing, automatic device mapping, and circuit supervision.

Signal Output Operation

The SIGA-CC1 provides:

One supervised Class B output circuit

The module receives commands from the compatible Edwards fire alarm control panel and applies externally supplied notification power to the connected signaling circuit.

This allows an individually addressable Signature module to control conventional notification appliances.

Notification Appliance Control

The SIGA-CC1 can control compatible polarized notification appliances such as:

• Horns
• Strobes
• Horn strobes
• Bells
• Chimes
• Other compatible polarized signaling devices

The connected appliances and external power source must meet the module’s electrical and compatibility requirements.

Class B Circuit

The SIGA-CC1 output operates as a:

Class B Notification Appliance Circuit

The circuit is supervised for wiring integrity while in the normal condition.

When activated by the fire alarm system, the module connects the external signal power to the notification appliances.

External Signal Power

The SIGA-CC1 does not supply notification power directly from the Signature signaling line circuit.

Instead, it switches a separate:

24 VDC external power source

to the connected notification appliances.

This separates intelligent communication from the higher-current power required by horns, strobes, and other signaling devices.

Electronic Addressing

The SIGA-CC1 uses electronic addressing rather than mechanical DIP or rotary switches.

The module contains a unique serial number that allows the compatible Signature system to identify and electronically assign its address.

The SIGA-CC1 requires:

One Signature Address

Automatic Device Mapping

The SIGA-CC1 supports Edwards Automatic Device Mapping.

This feature allows compatible Signature systems to identify the module’s location relative to other devices on the signaling circuit.

Device mapping can simplify commissioning, troubleshooting, wiring verification, and system servicing.

LED Status Indication

The SIGA-CC1 incorporates onboard status LEDs.

Green LED: Flashes during normal polling

Red LED: Indicates module activation

These LEDs provide local visual confirmation of communication and output status.

SIGA-CC1 vs. SIGA-CC1S

The SIGA-CC1 and SIGA-CC1S perform similar output-control functions but have an important difference:

SIGA-CC1: Standard signal output module

SIGA-CC1S: Synchronization output module

The SIGA-CC1S includes synchronization capabilities for compatible Genesis notification appliances, while the standard SIGA-CC1 is intended for general supervised signal output control.
