Edwards SIGA-CR Control Relay Module

The Edwards SIGA-CR Control Relay Module is an intelligent addressable output module designed for compatible Edwards Signature Series fire alarm systems. It provides a Form C dry relay contact that allows the fire alarm system to control auxiliary equipment through programmed system logic.

The SIGA-CR incorporates an onboard microprocessor, electronic addressing, automatic device mapping, non-volatile memory, and diagnostic status LEDs. It is commonly used where an addressable dry-contact relay output is required.

Product Functions

• Provides intelligent addressable relay control
• Provides one Form C dry relay contact
• Supports normally open and normally closed connections
• Uses one Signature address
• Provides electronic addressing
• Supports automatic device mapping
• Uses onboard microprocessor processing
• Stores device information in non-volatile memory
• Provides green and red status LEDs
• Supports programmable control functions
• Provides dry-contact switching
• Designed for compatible Edwards Signature systems

Form C Relay Output

The SIGA-CR provides:

One Form C Relay

with:

Normally Open (N.O.)

Normally Closed (N.C.)

Common (C)

contacts.

Because the relay contacts are dry, the module can switch an external circuit without supplying power to that circuit itself.

Addressable Relay Control

The SIGA-CR operates as an individually addressable output point on the Edwards Signature signaling line circuit.

The compatible fire alarm control panel can activate or restore the relay according to programmed system logic, allowing control functions to be associated with specific alarms, supervisory events, or other system conditions.

Auxiliary Control Functions

The SIGA-CR can be used for compatible auxiliary control applications such as:

• HVAC control
• Fan shutdown
• Damper control
• Door release interfaces
• Elevator-related interfaces
• Equipment shutdown
• Building control interfaces
• Other dry-contact control functions

The exact function depends on the fire alarm system programming and the electrical requirements of the controlled equipment.

Electronic Addressing

The SIGA-CR uses electronic addressing rather than mechanical DIP or rotary switches.

The Signature system recognizes the module through its unique electronic serial number and assigns its address through compatible system programming.

The module requires:

One Signature Address

Automatic Device Mapping

The SIGA-CR supports Edwards Automatic Device Mapping.

This allows compatible Signature systems to identify the module’s physical relationship to other devices on the signaling circuit.

Device mapping can simplify system commissioning, troubleshooting, wiring verification, and future servicing.

Non-Volatile Memory

The module contains non-volatile memory for storing device information and operating data.

This can include:

• Device serial number
• Device address
• Device type
• Personality information
• Operating history
• Diagnostic information

Stored information is retained if system power is interrupted.

LED Status Indication

The SIGA-CR incorporates onboard status LEDs.

Green LED: Flashes during normal polling

Red LED: Indicates module activation

The indicators provide local confirmation of communication and relay status during system testing and troubleshooting.

Dry Contact Operation

The SIGA-CR’s relay contacts are electrically isolated from the Signature data circuit.

The module therefore acts as an intelligent switching interface rather than a power source.

Any external circuit connected to the relay must remain within the module’s specified contact ratings and the requirements of the controlled equipment.
