Bosch D331A. Photoelectric Duct Smoke Detector.

Bosch D331A Analog Duct Smoke Detector

The Bosch D331A is a duct smoke detector designed to sample air from HVAC systems or plenum spaces and detect smoke particulates in the airflow. It houses a sensor element in a removable housing that fits into ductwork, providing early warning via the fire alarm system when smoke is present in the ventilation path.

It’s part of Bosch’s line of analog detectors and commonly paired with control panels that can support analog addressable devices.

Key Features & Capabilities

• Analog / Addressable Technology — Uses Bosch’s analog detection protocol to report actual smoke levels, not just binary alarm/trouble states.

• Duct Sampling Housing — Designed to mount into duct systems to monitor airflow for smoke.

• Removable Sensing Chamber — The sensing element could be removed for service or replacement without disturbing the duct housing.

• UL / CSFM Listing — Listed for use in fire alarm systems. The D331A is part of Bosch’s certified components list for states like California.

• Integration with Bosch Fire Alarm Systems — Works with Bosch analog/addressable control panels (e.g., D300A series) and interfaces via compatible communication protocol
