Edwards 302-194 Conventional Heat Detector

The Edwards 302-194 is a commercial conventional heat detector designed for use with compatible conventional fire alarm systems. It features 194°F (90°C) fixed-temperature activation with rate-compensation technology, allowing the detector to respond more quickly to rapidly rising temperatures while minimizing thermal lag under normal operating conditions.

Designed for demanding commercial and industrial environments, the detector is self-restoring, hermetically sealed, shock resistant, corrosion resistant, and tamper resistant. Its rugged construction makes it suitable for indoor applications where elevated ambient temperatures require a higher-temperature heat detector. This product is intended exclusively for commercial fire alarm installations.

Product Functions

• Detects high-temperature fire conditions
• 194°F (90°C) fixed-temperature activation
• Rate-compensation heat detection
• Normally open alarm contacts
• Automatic self-restoring operation
• Continuous conventional circuit supervision
• Reliable thermal fire detection
• Mechanical switching operation

Electrical & System Information

The 302-194 is a conventional normally open heat detector designed for use on supervised initiating device circuits. When the detector reaches its rated activation temperature, the internal contacts close to signal an alarm condition to the compatible fire alarm control panel.

The detector operates without electronic circuitry and automatically resets after temperatures return below the operating threshold, eliminating the need for manual reset following non-destructive activation.
