The Aritech DP2051 Optical Smoke Detector is an analog addressable smoke detector from the Aritech 2000 Series. It uses optical smoke-sensing technology and provides individual device identification for compatible Aritech FP Series fire alarm systems.
The DP2051 is the single-LED version without a remote LED driver. It uses numeric rotary addressing, supports diagnostic self-testing, and operates with the compatible DB2001 or DB2001U detector base.

Optical Smoke Detection
The DP2051 uses an optical sensing chamber to detect airborne smoke particles.
Optical detection is particularly effective at identifying smoke associated with slow-developing and smoldering fires. The detector communicates its condition to the compatible addressable fire alarm control panel.
Addressable Operation
The DP2051 operates as an individually identifiable device on the compatible Aritech addressable loop.
The supported address range is:
1–128
This allows the fire alarm control panel to identify the specific detector reporting an alarm or other condition.
Numeric Addressing
The detector uses two rotary switches located on the rear of the sensor for address selection.
One switch establishes the higher digits while the second establishes the units digit, providing straightforward numeric addressing throughout the supported range.
Single LED Configuration
The DP2051 is specifically identified as:
Optical Smoke Monitor — Single LED Without Remote LED Driver
Its integral indicator provides local alarm status. Unlike the DP2061 and DP2071 variants, the DP2051 does not provide a remote LED driver.
Detector Base Compatibility
The standard compatible base is:
DB2001 / DB2001U
A compatible isolator base is also available:
DB2016
The plug-in base arrangement allows the detector head to be serviced or replaced without disturbing the installed field wiring.
Self-Diagnostics
The DP2051 supports full diagnostic self-testing.
Diagnostic functions help the compatible fire alarm system monitor detector operation and identify conditions that may require servicing.
