Space Age SSU-MSR-100RA/W Remote Accessory

The Space Age SSU-MSR-100RA/W is an advanced remote indicator and control accessory designed for use with compatible Space Age and Air Products & Controls duct smoke detectors. The Space Age SSU-MSR-100RA/W combines remote status indication, key-operated detector testing and reset, integrated audible notification, and convenient maintenance functions into a professional double-gang wall-mounted control station. Therefore, it provides maintenance personnel and facility managers with a centralized location for monitoring and controlling duct smoke detection systems.

Space Age SSU-MSR-100RA/W Function

The SSU-MSR-100RA/W allows users to remotely monitor detector status, perform testing, and reset compatible duct smoke detectors without requiring direct access to HVAC equipment. As a result, maintenance procedures become faster, safer, and more efficient. In addition, the integrated sounder provides local audible notification during alarm or trouble conditions.

Comprehensive Remote Monitoring

The SSU-MSR-100RA/W provides visual indication for all major detector conditions, including:

• Green LED – Normal (Pilot)
• Amber LED – Trouble
• Red LED – Alarm

Consequently, technicians can quickly determine detector status at a glance. Furthermore, the tri-color indication simplifies troubleshooting and routine inspections.

Integrated Audible Sounder

The remote accessory incorporates a built-in sounder that provides audible indication for alarm, trouble, or both, depending on system configuration. Therefore, maintenance personnel receive immediate notification of detector events even when visual observation is not possible. Additionally, the sounder includes a silence feature with automatic ringback after the alarm or trouble condition is corrected.

Key-Operated Test and Reset

The SSU-MSR-100RA/W includes a secure key-operated switch that allows authorized personnel to test and reset compatible duct smoke detectors remotely. As a result, maintenance can be performed without opening HVAC equipment or accessing difficult rooftop installations. Furthermore, keyed operation prevents unauthorized testing or resetting of life safety equipment.

Lamp and Sounder Test Function

A built-in lamp and buzzer test function allows installers and service personnel to verify proper operation of all LEDs and the integrated sounder. Consequently, routine inspections can be completed quickly while confirming that the remote accessory is operating correctly.

Tool-Free Wiring Connections

The SSU-MSR-100RA/W features a lever-operated “no-tools” terminal block that simplifies installation and servicing. Therefore, field wiring can be completed quickly without the use of screw terminals. Additionally, the design reduces installation time and minimizes wiring errors.

Compatible Detector Systems

The Space Age SSU-MSR-100RA/W is designed for use with compatible duct smoke detector systems, including:

• Space Age SL-2000 Series Duct Smoke Detectors
• Space Age SM-501 Series Duct Smoke Detectors
• Air Products & Controls Duct Smoke Detectors
• Compatible HVAC duct detection systems

Therefore, it provides a flexible remote monitoring solution for a wide variety of HVAC smoke detection installations.
