Simplex 4098-9613 Heat Detector

The Simplex 4098-9613 is an advanced electronic heat detector that ensures reliable and precise temperature monitoring. It uses a fast-response, thermistor-based design to detect temperature increases quickly, consistently, and accurately. This enables the device to promptly identify when fixed temperatures are exceeded, making it an essential component of fire detection systems.

Rate-of-Rise Temperature Detection

One of the key features of the Simplex 4098-9613 is its 135°F (57°C) rate-of-rise temperature detection. This feature detects rapid increases in temperature, often indicating a developing fire. The device compares the responses from two thermistors to determine if there has been a significant rise in temperature. This design, coupled with precise thermistor placement, offers a more accurate and reliable performance than traditional mechanical heat detectors. As a result, it provides enhanced fire detection capabilities.

Self-Restoring and Reliable Operation

The Simplex 4098-9613 is designed for ease of use and maintenance. It features a self-restoring operation, which means it resets automatically once the conditions return to normal. This reduces the need for manual intervention, ensuring consistent, repeatable accuracy. Moreover, the device operates well in both ceiling and wall-mounted installations, providing flexibility for various building layouts.

Compatibility and Installation

This heat detector is compatible with two-wire initiating device circuits (IDCs), offering integration into a wide range of fire alarm systems. It operates within a voltage range of 15 to 32 VDC, with a maximum ripple of 30%, ensuring steady performance across varying conditions. Additionally, it meets FM requirements for rate-of-rise operation, detecting temperature increases ranging from 15° to 25° F/min (8.33° to 13.88° C/min).

Environmental Resilience

The Simplex 4098-9613 operates efficiently in a variety of environments. It functions in humidity levels from 10% to 95% RH and within a temperature range of 32° to 100° F (0° to 38° C). However, it is not designed for outdoor use. The device’s sleek white color ensures it blends seamlessly with most environments, maintaining a discreet appearance.
