Integrated Audible Signaling

The ABHW-4B combines a detector base with an integral audible signaling device.

When used with compatible Siemens detectors and fire alarm control equipment, the sounder can be activated according to system programming. Multiple ABHW-4B bases on the same compatible device loop can operate in synchronization.

The base produces a standard high-frequency audible signal suitable for localized fire and emergency notification.

Six Selectable Tone Patterns

The ABHW-4B provides six configurable audible patterns:

Steady

March Time 120

Canadian March Time 30.

This allows the same base to support different fire and emergency signaling requirements through compatible system programming.

Temporal 3 & Temporal 4

The ABHW-4B supports both fire and carbon-monoxide signaling patterns.

Temporal 3: Common standardized fire evacuation pattern

Temporal 4: Carbon monoxide notification pattern

The availability of both patterns allows compatible systems to use the audible base for multiple emergency signaling functions.

Two Volume Levels

The audible base provides two programmable output levels:

High: approximately 85 dBA at 10 ft

Low: approximately 75 dBA at 10 ft

This allows the audible output to be configured according to the protected area’s requirements.

Loop-Powered Operation

A key feature of the ABHW-4B is its loop-power capability.

When used with compatible Siemens equipment, the base can receive operating power directly from the signaling line circuit, providing a two-wire arrangement without requiring a separate notification power circuit.

The base can alternatively operate from an external regulated 24VDC source when required by the system configuration.
