Simplex GSA4098-9792 TrueAlarm Addressable Sensor Base

The Simplex GSA4098-9792 TrueAlarm Addressable Sensor Base is an intelligent standard detector base used with compatible Simplex TrueAlarm analog sensors. Simplex identifies 4098-9792 as its white Standard Sensor Base, providing the addressable electronics and electrical interface between a compatible sensor head and the fire alarm control unit.

The base communicates using MAPNET II or IDNet and continuously monitors the installed sensor. Sensor information is digitized and transmitted to the fire alarm control unit for processing, allowing each detector location to be individually identified and supervised.

Product Functions

• Provides an addressable base for TrueAlarm sensors
• Supports compatible photoelectric smoke sensors
• Supports compatible heat sensors
• Provides individual detector addressing
• Communicates using IDNet or MAPNET II
• Continuously monitors the installed sensor
• Transmits sensor information to the control panel
• Supports automatic sensor identification
• Maintains the address at the detector location
• Provides integral red status LED
• Supports magnetically operated functional testing
• Includes locking anti-tamper functionality
• Provides standard operation without auxiliary relay options

TrueAlarm Addressable Operation

The 4098-9792 contains the electronics required to interface a detachable TrueAlarm sensor with compatible Simplex addressable fire alarm equipment.

Published specifications identify:

Communication: MAPNET II or IDNet

Communication/Supervisory Voltage: 24–40 VDC with data

Typical Current: 400 µA

Addresses Required: 1 per base.

This architecture allows the control unit to monitor each detector location individually rather than treating multiple detectors as a single conventional zone.

Magnetic Functional Test

The TrueAlarm architecture supports magnetically operated functional testing.

This allows technicians to perform a local functional test of the compatible detector without requiring removal of the sensor head from the base.

Anti-Tamper Feature

The 4098-9792 uses a locking anti-tamper design to help prevent unauthorized removal of the installed TrueAlarm sensor.

The feature is integrated into the base and can be used where detector security is required.

Installation Information

The 4098-9792 can be installed on:

4-inch octagonal box: 1-1/2-inch minimum depth

4-inch square box: 1-1/2-inch minimum depth

Single-gang box: 2-inch minimum depth.

Typical installation involves connecting the IDNet or MAPNET II circuit, securing the base to the electrical box, setting/verifying its address, installing the compatible TrueAlarm sensor head, and testing communication and alarm operation.

Simplex identifies 4098-9832 as an adapter plate for applicable surface or semi-flush mounting arrangements.
