Bosch F220-B6RS Four-Wire Detector Base with Sounder

The Bosch F220-B6RS is a four-wire detector base with an integrated sounder designed for use with Bosch F220 Series photoelectric smoke and heat detectors. The Bosch F220-B6RS combines detector mounting, alarm relay functionality, and local audible notification in a single device. Therefore, it provides an efficient solution for fire alarm installations requiring both detection and occupant notification from a single detector location.

Bosch F220-B6RS Function

The F220-B6RS serves as both a mounting base and notification platform for compatible Bosch F220 Series detector heads. As a result, when a connected detector enters alarm, the integrated sounder can activate to provide local audible notification while alarm contacts report the event to the fire alarm control panel. In addition, the base supports multiple sounder operating configurations for flexible system design.

Integrated UL 464 Sounder

The Bosch F220-B6RS includes a built-in sounder that meets UL 464 notification appliance requirements. Consequently, the base can provide local occupant notification without requiring a separate horn or sounder device in many applications. Furthermore, the sounder supports multiple operating modes including Temporal Code 3, March Time, and Continuous Tone patterns.

Flexible Sounder Configuration

The F220-B6RS offers several sounder activation methods to accommodate different installation requirements:

• NAC Follower Configuration
• Reverse Polarity Configuration
• Local Annunciation Configuration
• Interconnection Configuration

Therefore, installers can select the notification method best suited for the fire alarm system design. Additionally, interconnected configurations allow multiple detector sounders to activate simultaneously during alarm conditions.

Compatible Bosch F220 Series Detectors

The Bosch F220-B6RS is compatible with a variety of Bosch detector heads, including:

• F220-P Photoelectric Smoke Detector
• F220-PTH Smoke Detector with Heat Sensor
• F220-PTHC Smoke Detector with Heat and CO Enhancement
• F220-135 Rate-of-Rise and Fixed Temperature Heat Detector
• F220-135F Fixed Temperature Heat Detector
• F220-190F High Temperature Heat Detector

Consequently, the base provides installation flexibility across a wide range of fire detection applications.

Four-Wire Fire Alarm System Integration

The F220-B6RS is designed for use with UL-listed four-wire fire alarm control panels. As a result, it integrates easily into conventional fire alarm systems requiring supervised detector circuits and local notification capability. Moreover, the base includes Form A alarm contacts for reliable system signaling and monitoring.

Local Audible Notification

The integrated sounder produces sound levels exceeding 85 dB at 10 feet (3 meters). Therefore, occupants in the protected area receive immediate local notification when a detector enters alarm. Additionally, synchronized operation can be achieved when configured according to system requirements.

Simplified Installation

The Bosch F220-B6RS features a compact design that mounts directly to standard electrical boxes and supports interchangeable detector heads. Consequently, installation and maintenance are simplified while allowing future detector upgrades without replacing the base assembly. Furthermore, the base includes provisions for remote annunciation and interconnection functions.
