Air Products and Controls SM-501-P: Duct Smoke Detector for Reliable Airflow Protection

The Air Products and Controls SM-501-P provides dependable photoelectric smoke detection within HVAC duct systems. Designed to monitor air movement, this detector helps stop the spread of smoke and fire through ventilation ducts, enhancing the safety of commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Key Features

Photoelectric Detection
The SM-501-P uses photoelectric sensing technology to detect smoke particles quickly and accurately. This capability ensures early warning, especially for slow, smoldering fires that may otherwise go undetected by traditional ionization detectors.

Transparent Housing for Easy Inspection
A clear plastic cover enables fast visual inspections of internal components without removing the unit. As a result, technicians can verify operation and cleanliness without extra tools, reducing maintenance time and improving system readiness.

Remote Testing and Monitoring
The unit supports both magnetic testing and remote test stations. Additionally, dual LED indicators provide visual confirmation of power and alarm status, helping staff diagnose issues quickly and with minimal disruption to operations.

Universal Compatibility
Compatible with most conventional fire alarm control panels, the SM-501-P offers versatile integration. Whether for new construction or retrofit applications, its flexible design supports a wide range of system configurations.

Durable Construction
This detector is built for long-term reliability in demanding environments. Its rugged housing protects internal components from dust and debris, maintaining sensor sensitivity over time.

Applications

The Air Products and Controls SM-501-P is ideal for use in hospitals, schools, office buildings, retail centers, and manufacturing plants. Wherever HVAC ducts circulate air, this detector helps safeguard occupants by detecting smoke before it spreads.
