Space Age DA-007 Weather/Sun Shield

The Space Age DA-007 Weather/Sun Shield is a protective accessory designed for Space Age D171 and D371 flame detectors. Engineered for harsh industrial environments, the DA-007 helps shield flame detectors from rain, snow, direct sunlight, and airborne contaminants that can affect long-term detector performance. Therefore, it enhances detector reliability while reducing maintenance requirements in demanding indoor and outdoor fire protection applications.

Space Age DA-007 Function

The Space Age DA-007 is designed to mount directly above compatible flame detectors, providing continuous protection for the detector optics without obstructing the detector’s field of view. As a result, flame detectors maintain maximum detection capability while remaining protected from severe environmental conditions. In addition, the shield helps reduce contamination caused by dust, dirt, moisture, and falling debris.

Weather and Sun Protection

The DA-007 provides effective protection against rain, snow, direct sunlight, and other environmental exposure that may negatively affect flame detector performance. Consequently, detector optics remain cleaner for longer periods, reducing maintenance frequency while supporting dependable fire detection. Moreover, limiting direct solar exposure can help improve detector stability in outdoor installations.

Designed for D171 and D371 Flame Detectors

The Space Age DA-007 is specifically engineered for compatibility with D171 1IR+UV and D371 3IR+UV Multi-Spectrum Flame Detectors. As a result, installers can add environmental protection without modifying the detector or affecting its specified detection coverage. Additionally, the shield provides a factory-designed appearance and integrates seamlessly with compatible detector assemblies.

Reduces Maintenance Requirements

Industrial flame detectors are frequently exposed to harsh weather and airborne contaminants that require regular cleaning. Therefore, the DA-007 helps minimize contamination by shielding the detector from direct exposure to the elements. Furthermore, cleaner detector optics contribute to consistent flame detection performance while reducing service visits and maintenance costs.

Built for Industrial Applications

Manufactured by Space Age Electronics, the DA-007 is intended for use in demanding industrial environments including petrochemical plants, refineries, offshore platforms, power generation facilities, and manufacturing operations. Consequently, it provides dependable environmental protection wherever reliable flame detection is critical for life safety and asset protection.
