Space Age DA-005 Flame Detector Lens Weather Shield

The Space Age DA-005 Weather Shield is a protective lens accessory designed for SaeVu D171 and D371 flame detectors. Engineered for demanding indoor and outdoor industrial environments, the Space Age DA-005 helps shield the detector’s optical window from rain, snow, direct sunlight, and airborne contaminants that can affect long-term performance. Therefore, it improves flame detector reliability while reducing maintenance requirements in harsh operating conditions.

Space Age DA-005 Function

The Space Age DA-005 is designed to mount above the detector lens, providing a protective shield against adverse environmental conditions without obstructing the detector’s field of view. As a result, compatible flame detectors maintain maximum optical performance while remaining protected from weather exposure and debris accumulation. In addition, the weather shield helps extend cleaning intervals and supports dependable fire detection in challenging applications.

Weather and Sun Protection

The DA-005 provides effective protection against rain, snow, direct sunlight, and falling debris that may accumulate on the detector lens. Consequently, the optical surface remains cleaner for longer periods, helping preserve detection sensitivity. Moreover, reducing direct environmental exposure contributes to more consistent detector performance throughout changing weather conditions.

Designed for SaeVu Flame Detectors

The Space Age DA-005 is specifically engineered for compatibility with Space Age D171 1IR+UV and D371 3IR+UV Multi-Spectrum Flame Detectors. As a result, installers can add environmental protection without modifying the detector or interfering with its specified field of view. Additionally, the shield integrates neatly with existing detector mounting hardware for a professional installation.

Reduces Maintenance Requirements

Industrial facilities often expose flame detectors to moisture, dirt, dust, and airborne process contaminants. Therefore, the DA-005 helps minimize contamination of the detector lens by reducing direct exposure to the environment. Furthermore, cleaner optics reduce routine maintenance requirements while supporting dependable flame detection performance over the life of the installation.

Built for Industrial Environments

This device is intended for use in harsh industrial applications where flame detectors are exposed to severe weather and demanding operating conditions. Consequently, it is well suited for petrochemical plants, refineries, offshore platforms, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants, and other industrial fire protection systems requiring dependable outdoor detector protection.
