A cast aluminum housing encloses a standard THERMOFLEX® heat detector making it suitable for use in hazardous locations. Including those requiring detectors that are explosion-proof, water and dust-tight.
The suffix EWT denotes a unit that i s suitable for areas described as:
The Class I, Groups C and D
A Class II, Groups E, F, and G
Class III
Applications requiring Special Purpose Enclosure Types III, IV, and V, Weatherproof, Water-tight, and Dust-tight (NEMA 4)
The EWT series meets the requirements of Division 1. “A location wh ere an explosive mixture of gas, vapor, dust, fibers or flying. And air may exist under normal operating conditions.” The EWT cast aluminum enclosure is acceptable for locations requiring Weatherproof,
Water-tight and Dust-tight applications. Class II devices require Dust-tight enclosures. The EWT enclosure meets NEMA 4 and CSA IV requirements
