Mircom MIX-M502M Zone Interface Module

Mircom MIX-M502M Zone Interface Module

The Mircom MIX-M502M Zone Interface Module is designed to seamlessly integrate conventional detection zones into an intelligent fire alarm control system. By providing an interface between standard 2-wire detectors and addressable fire panels, this module helps bridge legacy devices with modern technology, offering enhanced flexibility in retrofit and expansion projects.

Intelligent Integration with Conventional Devices

The MIX-M502M allows a conventional zone of 2-wire smoke detectors to communicate with Mircom’s addressable loop. This interface makes it possible to monitor a group of conventional detectors as a single addressable point. As a result, facility managers can retain existing devices while upgrading to a fully addressable fire alarm system.

Efficient Monitoring and Control

This module supervises the zone wiring, power supply, and alarm conditions. If a detector in the zone goes into alarm or if there’s a fault or open circuit, the MIX-M502M sends an alert to the fire alarm control panel. In addition, it supports the use of compatible 24VDC-powered, polarized smoke detectors and end-of-line resistors for supervision.

Compact, Flexible, and Easy to Install

With a compact form factor and mountable directly within electrical boxes or behind device plates, the MIX-M502M simplifies installation in tight spaces. It draws its operating power directly from the signaling line circuit (SLC), requiring no external power source. Its LED indicator also provides instant visual feedback on module status.

Key Features of the MIX-M502M Interface Module

• Interfaces a zone of 2-wire conventional detectors with Mircom’s addressable systems

• Supervises alarm, short, and open conditions for reliable operation

• Compact size suitable for mounting in junction boxes or behind devices

• LED status indicator for immediate troubleshooting

• Powered directly from the SLC with no need for external power

The Mircom MIX-M502M Zone Interface Module is an essential solution for upgrading existing fire detection systems without replacing all devices. Its ability to connect legacy 2-wire smoke detectors to an addressable loop allows for cost-effective modernization. Dependable, easy to install, and highly compatible, the MIX-M502M is the smart choice for integrators and facility managers looking to extend system functionality.
