The Mircom MIX-ADD Address Card for Mircom MIX-200 Series Pack of 10 is a coded addressing accessory designed to store detector address information in compatible Mircom intelligent detector bases.
Mircom’s documentation identifies the MIX-ADD specifically for the MIX-2000 Series bases, rather than the newer MIX-200 Series. The card remains installed in the detector base so a compatible detector can automatically read the location address when plugged into the base.
Product Functions
- Provides detector address identification
- Stores address information in the detector base
- Supplied as a pack of 10 cards
- Supports automatic detector addressing
- Simplifies detector replacement
- Helps prevent addressing errors
- Remains with the detector location during sensor replacement
- Requires no independent operating power
- Designed for compatible Mircom intelligent detector bases
Base-Stored Addressing
The MIX-ADD uses a coded addressing method where the detector’s location information is stored in the mounting base rather than permanently in the detector head.
A coded MIX-ADD card is inserted into the compatible base. When an Alpha Series detector is plugged into the base, the detector reads the address stored on the card.
This allows the physical detector location to retain its assigned address even if the detector head is replaced.
Automatic Addressing
The MIX-ADD provides automatic address identification for compatible detector/base combinations.
Because the address remains with the mounting base, a replacement detector can read the existing address when installed. This reduces the possibility of incorrectly addressing replacement detectors during maintenance.
Detector Replacement
The MIX-ADD system is designed to simplify detector servicing.
When a detector head is removed, the address card remains installed in the base. A compatible replacement detector reads the existing address when attached.
This eliminates the need to manually reproduce the detector address on the replacement sensor.
Compatible Bases
Mircom officially documents the MIX-ADD with these MIX-2000 Series bases:
MIX-2000 — 4-inch Intelligent Base
MIX-2001 — 6-inch Intelligent EZ-Fit Base
MIX-2001R — 6-inch Intelligent Relay Base
MIX-2001HT — 6-inch Intelligent Sounder Base.
Mircom’s separate MIX-200 Series uses a different family of mounting bases, so MIX-ADD compatibility should not be assumed for MIX-200 Series detectors.
