Gentex 9123F Photoelectric Smoke Detector: Accurate Detection with Reliable Performance

The Gentex 9123F Photoelectric Smoke Detector is designed to deliver precise and early smoke detection for enhanced safety in residential and light commercial environments. Known for its photoelectric sensing technology and robust construction, the 9123F provides dependable performance and is ideal for applications where minimizing false alarms is a priority.

Key Features

Photoelectric Sensing Technology
Utilizes advanced photoelectric sensing to detect slow-smoldering fires more effectively than ionization detectors. Ideal for detecting fires that produce heavy smoke before flames.

Built-In 90 dBA Sounder
Equipped with a high-decibel sounder that delivers a loud 90 dBA temporal 3 pattern alert, ensuring occupants are notified promptly during an emergency.

Form A/Form C Dry Contact Relays
Includes Form A and Form C dry contact relays, enabling integration with security systems, nurse call systems, and other external devices for broader alarm notification.

Self-Diagnostics and LED Indicator
Features a self-diagnostic function that continuously monitors sensitivity and operational status. The multi-color LED provides visual indication of normal operation, trouble conditions, or alarm states.

Low Profile, Aesthetic Design
With a low profile and white finish, the 9123F blends discreetly into ceilings and walls, maintaining the appearance of modern interior spaces without compromising safety.

Mounting Flexibility
Includes a mounting plate with a tamper-resistant locking feature, making installation easier and more secure across various electrical box configurations.

Application and Usage

The Gentex 9123F suits residential dwellings, hotel rooms, apartments, dormitories, and assisted living facilities. It’s an excellent option in areas where accurate smoke detection is needed without frequent false alarms, especially spaces with cooking appliances or humid conditions where traditional detectors may be prone to nuisance tripping.

Installation Tips

• Mount the detector on the ceiling or high on a wall, avoiding areas near HVAC vents or dead air spaces.

• Connect to a 120VAC power source with battery backup to ensure operation during power outages.

• If integration is required, utilize the dry contact relay connections to interface with building systems.

• Test the unit monthly and replace batteries annually to maintain performance and compliance.

Advantages

• Accurate Smoke Detection: Ideal for detecting slow-burning fires with reduced false alarm rates.

• Integrated Alarm Sounder: Delivers clear, high-volume alerts to ensure occupant awareness.

• Easy Integration: Dry contact relays allow connectivity with additional systems for enhanced safety.

• Reliable Operation: Self-diagnostics and LED status indicators ensure continuous monitoring.

• Aesthetic and Functional: Blends into modern interiors while delivering critical life safety protection.
