Siemens DI-3
The Conventional Device i s a plug-in, ionization detector and i s designed for two-wire system operation. The Conventional Device i s designed with adjustable sensitivity. Wh ile the DI-A3 and the DI-B3 have a fixed sensitivity design for their high airflow applications. Consists of self-compensating dual ionization chambers and a highly stable solid-state amplifier-switching circuit. One chamber detects the presence of combustion products. And the second chamber serves as a reference, to stabilize the detector’s sensitivity for changes in environmental conditions. As products of combustion enter the sampling chamber, the chamber current i s reduced to produce a voltage change. The voltage range exceeds the pre-determined threshold, an alarm i s produced in the control unit. The detector locks in upon alarm and will reset from the control panel.
The sensitivity of the Conventional Device i s preset at the factory. The electrical sensitivity can b e monitored in the field using the Cerberus Pyrotronics sensitivity tester, test module TM-I3.
W as recommended for use in high air velocity applications like a computer room underfloor areas. These models contain a specially designed internal chamber cover. And a pre-selected fixed sensitivity setting which provides extremely stable operation. They a re UL list for operation in air velocities of 0 to 1200 feet per minute. Air velocity affects detector sensitivity and performance.
