The Fire-Lite D365PL Duct Smoke Detector is an intelligent addressable photoelectric detector designed to detect smoke and products of combustion traveling through HVAC duct systems. It combines a duct housing with intelligent smoke sensing for integration with compatible Fire-Lite addressable fire alarm control panels.
The D365PL is designed for low-flow duct applications and operates across a broad airflow range. Its addressable architecture allows the fire alarm control panel to individually identify the detector and initiate programmed HVAC or smoke-control functions when smoke is detected.

Photoelectric Smoke Detection
The D365PL uses photoelectric sensing technology to detect smoke particles transported through HVAC ductwork.
A sampling tube directs a representative air sample from the duct through the detector housing. The photoelectric sensing chamber evaluates the sampled air for smoke and communicates detector conditions to the compatible fire alarm control panel.
The D365PL is designed specifically for duct smoke detection and does not replace required open-area smoke detectors.
Low-Flow Duct Operation
The D365PL supports air velocities from:
100–4,000 ft/min
or approximately:
0.5–20.32 m/s
This wide operating range allows the detector to function in both low-flow and higher-velocity HVAC systems.
Intelligent Addressable Operation
The D365PL communicates directly with compatible Fire-Lite addressable fire alarm control panels.
Individual point identification allows the system to identify the exact duct detector reporting an alarm, trouble, or maintenance condition.
The fire alarm system can also use detector activation to initiate programmed HVAC shutdown, fan control, damper control, smoke-control, or annunciation functions.
Rotary Addressing
The D365PL uses rotary decimal address switches for device addressing.
This allows the detector’s SLC address to be selected directly at the device and simplifies identification during commissioning, troubleshooting, and replacement.
Available address capacity depends on the connected Fire-Lite fire alarm control panel.
Sampling Tubes
The D365PL uses DST Series sampling tubes selected according to duct width.
DST1 — Ducts up to 1 ft
DST1.5 — Ducts 1–2 ft
DST3 — Ducts 2–4 ft
DST5 — Ducts 4–8 ft
DST10 — Ducts 8–12 ft
The appropriate sampling tube is selected according to the HVAC duct dimensions.
