Edwards TSD-CJ-C01 Super Duct Smoke Detector Controller

The Edwards TSD-CJ-C01 SuperDuct Duct Smoke Detector Controller is an intelligent controller designed for use with Edwards SuperDuct RJ45 smoke sensors in commercial HVAC smoke detection systems. The Edwards TSD-CJ-C01 serves as the primary interface between the remote duct smoke sensor and the fire alarm system, providing alarm processing, supervisory monitoring, relay outputs, and HVAC shutdown capability. Therefore, it delivers reliable smoke detection control while helping prevent smoke from circulating through a building’s air handling system.

Edwards TSD-CJ-C01 Function

The Edwards TSD-CJ-C01 continuously monitors one or two compatible SuperDuct smoke sensors installed within HVAC ductwork. As a result, when smoke is detected, the controller activates onboard relay outputs that can initiate fire alarm notification, HVAC fan shutdown, smoke damper operation, or building automation sequences. In addition, the controller supervises connected sensors and provides clear visual indication of normal, alarm, trouble, and dirty detector conditions.

RJ45 Sensor Connectivity

The TSD-CJ-C01 utilizes RJ45 modular connectors to communicate with compatible Edwards SuperDuct smoke sensors. Consequently, installation is faster and cleaner than conventional field wiring while simplifying detector replacement and servicing. Moreover, the controller supports one or two compatible smoke sensors, providing flexible installation options for larger duct systems.

Intelligent HVAC Smoke Control

The Edwards TSD-CJ-C01 helps prevent smoke migration by activating connected fire alarm systems and HVAC controls whenever smoke is detected. Therefore, building ventilation systems can be shut down quickly to reduce the spread of smoke throughout occupied spaces. Furthermore, onboard Form C alarm relay contacts provide convenient integration with fire alarm control panels, building automation systems, and auxiliary equipment.

Installer-Friendly Design

The SuperDuct controller features a compact housing with easy-access field connection terminals, a clear cover, and a recessed test/reset switch. As a result, technicians can quickly inspect status LEDs, perform maintenance, and access wiring without removing the complete assembly. Additionally, conduit knockouts and a spacious wiring compartment simplify installation in both new construction and retrofit projects.

Reliable Environmental Performance

Designed for demanding HVAC environments, the TSD-CJ-C01 works with SuperDuct photoelectric sensors that feature environmental compensation, drift-free sensitivity, and reliable operation across a wide range of airflow conditions. Consequently, the complete SuperDuct system delivers dependable smoke detection while minimizing nuisance alarms caused by environmental changes.
