Edwards MGC-S2VM Speaker Strobe White

The Edwards MGC-S2VM is a ceiling-mounted speaker-strobe designed for fire alarm voice evacuation and emergency communication systems. The Edwards MGC-S2VM combines a high-performance speaker operating on 25 Vrms audio circuits with an integrated multi-candela strobe in a low-profile white housing. Therefore, it provides both audible and visual notification from a single appliance, making it ideal for commercial, healthcare, educational, hospitality, and institutional applications.

Edwards MGC-S2VM Function

The MGC-S2VM is engineered to deliver emergency voice messages, evacuation instructions, and alarm tones while simultaneously providing visual notification through an integrated strobe. As a result, building occupants receive clear instructions during emergency events, helping improve evacuation efficiency and life safety performance. In addition, the appliance supports synchronized operation when used with compatible fire alarm systems.

High-Intelligibility Voice Evacuation Speaker

The Edwards MGC-S2VM incorporates a high-quality fire alarm speaker designed for clear voice reproduction and emergency communication. Consequently, voice evacuation messages can be understood more effectively than traditional horn notification devices. Furthermore, the speaker is optimized for speech intelligibility in commercial environments.

25 Vrms Audio Operation

The speaker section operates on 25 Vrms audio circuits, making it compatible with a wide variety of voice evacuation and emergency communication systems. Therefore, system designers can integrate the appliance into existing or new voice notification installations. Additionally, field-selectable transformer taps allow customization of audio output levels.

Selectable Speaker Wattage Taps

The MGC-S2VM provides multiple field-selectable wattage settings for flexible audio coverage:

• 1/4 Watt
• 1/2 Watt
• 1 Watt
• 2 Watts

As a result, installers can optimize sound output for room size, occupancy type, and ambient noise conditions. Moreover, selectable wattage settings simplify system design and commissioning.

Multi-Candela Visual Notification

The Edwards MGC-S2VM features a built-in strobe with field-selectable candela settings ranging from 15 to 95 candela. Consequently, installers can configure the appliance to meet the visual notification requirements of different spaces. Available settings typically include:

• 15 Candela
• 30 Candela
• 75 Candela
• 95 Candela

Furthermore, multi-candela capability reduces inventory requirements by allowing one model to serve multiple applications.

Low-Profile Ceiling Design

The appliance is designed for ceiling-mounted installations and features a modern low-profile appearance. Therefore, it provides effective notification while maintaining a clean architectural look. Additionally, the white housing blends well with most commercial ceiling environments.
