System Sensor SPSRL Wall Speaker Strobe

The System Sensor SPSRL Wall Speaker Strobe is an indoor audible/visible fire alarm notification appliance designed for emergency voice evacuation systems. It combines a high-fidelity speaker with a clear-lens strobe in a red wall-mount housing marked FIRE.

The SPSRL supports 25V or 70.7V speaker circuits, four selectable speaker power settings, and seven field-selectable strobe intensities. The strobe operates on regulated 12V or 24V notification circuits and supports the System Sensor synchronization protocol.

At the 15 and 30 cd settings, the appliance can automatically accommodate compatible 12V or 24V strobe operation. Higher candela settings require the applicable 24V configuration.

25V / 70.7V Speaker Operation

This dual-voltage capability allows the SPSRL to integrate with common distributed fire alarm voice evacuation and emergency communication systems.

400–4,000 Hz.

Its low total harmonic distortion is intended to provide clear emergency voice reproduction while supporting higher sound output for areas with elevated ambient noise.

520 Hz Capability

The SPSRL is 520 Hz capable when used with compatible fire alarm control equipment.

This capability can support applications requiring low-frequency signaling when the connected fire alarm system provides the appropriate signal.

Synchronized Strobe Operation

Synchronization coordinates compatible strobes within the same field of view so that they flash together rather than independently.

The strobe operating range is 8–17.5V for nominal 12V operation and 16–33V for nominal 24V operation when used with compatible built-in synchronization.

Installation Information

The SPSRL uses a plug-in design with a universal mounting plate. The mounting plate incorporates a shorting spring that allows wiring continuity to be checked before the finished appliance is installed.

For surface mounting, System Sensor specifies:

SBBSPRL — Red Surface-Mount Back Box.

The appliance also supports compatible 4-inch square electrical boxes. After installation, speaker voltage, wattage, strobe candela, synchronization, audio output, and circuit supervision should be verified according to the fire alarm system design.
