The Silent Knight 7150 Telephone Line Monitor is design to monitor an incoming telephone line and to activate an alarm system if the one line is cut or short. This can be use with any alarm system which provides 12VDC power supply.
Additionally the unit can be connect to either normally open or normally close detection circuits. Is important to know that a 50-second delay is incorporate into the 7150 circuit in order to prevent false alarms that could occur during momentary telephone circuits interruptions. Also, transient protection can be achieve by connecting terminal 8 to earth ground.
Because its power connectors are not supervise, the Silent Knight 7150 Telephone Line Monitor must be mount within 20 feet to the control panel.
If the telephone line should be interrupt, the 7150 will activate after 50 second delay. In consequence, It will activate the built-in relay and turn on the fault indicator lamp. Once the telephone service has been restor, the alarm relay will release. But the fault lamp will remain lighted until it is manually reset by pressing the Reset button.
Some of the features for this are:
- This device may not be directly connect to a coin telephone or to party line service.
- Can not be adjust or repair in the field.
- In case of harm, the device will notify the user in advance that is temporary discontinued services.
