Siemens SB-5R. Surface Mount Back Box.

Siemens SB-5R Surface Mount Back Box

The Siemens SB-5R Surface Mount Back Box offers a dependable solution for mounting fire alarm devices on solid surfaces. Designed for environments where flush mounting isn’t an option, this enclosure ensures reliable support and helps maintain system compliance. Its durable design and compatibility with Siemens devices make it a top choice for many commercial fire alarm installations.

Built for Durability and Visibility

Siemens built the SB-5R with strength and practicality in mind. Its metal construction resists impact and environmental stress, helping protect devices and internal wiring. In addition, the red exterior improves visibility, allowing emergency personnel and building occupants to quickly identify fire safety equipment.

This surface back box is an excellent fit for solid walls made of concrete, brick, or block. Since it installs directly onto the wall surface, it’s perfect for retrofit applications and upgrades in older buildings where in-wall wiring would be difficult or costly.

Device Compatibility and Installation Benefits

Installers appreciate how easily the SB-5R pairs with Siemens notification appliances and manual pull stations, including models like the U-MMT, U-HN-S, and MSI series. This wide compatibility simplifies planning and helps maintain consistent hardware across an entire fire system.

The box includes pre-punched knockouts, allowing fast conduit entry and flexible wiring. Its spacious interior provides room for secure cable termination, which supports better long-term reliability. Because of this thoughtful design, technicians can complete installations quickly and confidently.

Ideal for Challenging Installations

The SB-5R excels in situations where flush mounting isn’t possible. For instance, facilities with concrete walls or exposed infrastructure benefit from its simple, secure surface-mount design. Rather than opening up walls or reconfiguring building structure, technicians can mount devices efficiently using this enclosure.

The Siemens SB-5R Surface Mount Back Box supports fire system installations where durability, visibility, and easy mounting are critical. Its tough build, red finish, and compatibility with a wide range of Siemens devices make it a practical choice for both new and retrofit projects. When you need a reliable way to mount fire alarm components on solid surfaces, the SB-5R delivers consistent performance and installation flexibility.
