Notifier FRM-1-BP Relay Control Module Pack of 10

The Notifier FRM-1-BP is a bulk package containing ten FRM-1 Intelligent Relay Control Modules designed for use with compatible Notifier intelligent fire alarm control panels. The Notifier FRM-1-BP provides addressable relay control for auxiliary equipment such as HVAC systems, elevator recall circuits, magnetic door holders, smoke control systems, and other life safety interfaces. Therefore, it offers an efficient and economical solution for large fire alarm installations requiring multiple intelligent relay modules.

Notifier FRM-1-BP Function

Each FRM-1 relay module receives commands from a compatible Notifier fire alarm control panel and operates onboard relay contacts to control connected equipment. As a result, external devices can be activated or deactivated according to programmed fire alarm events. In addition, each module continuously communicates with the control panel, providing reliable supervision and status reporting.

Intelligent Addressable Relay Control

The FRM-1 utilizes Notifier FlashScan® intelligent communication technology for fast and dependable device operation. Consequently, every relay module is individually identified and monitored on the signaling line circuit (SLC). Furthermore, addressable communication allows precise event reporting, simplified troubleshooting, and flexible system programming.

Dual Form C Relay Contacts

Each module incorporates two isolated Form C (DPDT) dry contacts that operate together, providing flexible control of auxiliary equipment. Therefore, the FRM-1 can interface with HVAC systems, fans, dampers, elevators, magnetic door holders, security systems, and numerous building control devices. Additionally, the relay contacts are isolated from the SLC communication circuit for dependable operation.

FlashScan® and CLIP Compatibility

The FRM-1 supports both FlashScan® and legacy CLIP communication protocols. As a result, it is compatible with a broad range of Notifier intelligent fire alarm systems. Moreover, FlashScan significantly increases communication speed and improves overall system performance.

Rotary Address Switches

The Notifier FRM-1 includes built-in rotary decimal address switches for quick and accurate addressing. Consequently, installers can assign module addresses without programming tools. Furthermore, rotary switches simplify replacement and maintenance by providing visible address settings.

LED Status Indicator

Each relay module includes a panel-controlled LED indicator that flashes during normal communication and illuminates steadily when activated. Therefore, technicians can quickly determine operating status during commissioning and maintenance. Additionally, the LED improves troubleshooting efficiency.

Typical Control Applications

The Notifier FRM-1 is commonly used to control:

• HVAC shutdown systems
• Air handling units
• Smoke control fans
• Fire dampers
• Magnetic door holders
• Elevator recall systems
• Building automation interfaces
• Fire suppression control circuits
• Auxiliary notification equipment
• General-purpose relay control

Consequently, it provides a dependable interface between intelligent fire alarm systems and critical building equipment.
