System Sensor 2251-COPTIR Multi-Criteria Smoke Sensor.

System Sensor 2251-COPTIR Intelligent Photoelectric Multi-Criteria Smoke Sensor

The System Sensor 2251-COPTIR Intelligent Photoelectric Multi-Criteria Smoke Sensor delivers advanced performance for modern fire detection needs. This multi-criteria model combines photoelectric smoke sensing, carbon monoxide monitoring, infrared flame detection, and temperature measurement. Because of this mix of technologies, facilities gain faster response times while reducing false alarms across a wide range of environments.

Advanced Detection Technology

The 2251-COPTIR uses four integrated sensing elements that continuously evaluate conditions. Instead of relying on a single detection method, the sensor analyzes smoke particles, temperature changes, carbon monoxide levels, and infrared signatures. As a result, the unit responds quickly to both slow-smoldering fires and fast-flaming events. This approach also improves stability in challenging applications where dust, humidity, or airflow often interfere with standard detectors.

Reliable Performance in Demanding Applications

Many commercial buildings choose this sensor because it improves accuracy without requiring complicated configurations. The unit communicates with intelligent System Sensor panels and adjusts its detection profile based on real-time environmental data. Consequently, it performs well in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and manufacturing spaces. It also helps reduce nuisance alarms in locations where environmental contaminants frequently disrupt traditional detectors.

Installation and Compatibility

Technicians appreciate this model because installation remains straightforward. The sensor mounts to standard System Sensor bases, including B200 series intelligent bases. Once installed, it synchronizes with addressable control panels for monitoring, testing, and maintenance. With its durable construction and streamlined design, the device fits both retrofit projects and new fire alarm installations.
