Honeywell IDP-CONTROL-6 Control Module

Honeywell IDP-CONTROL-6 Control Module: Versatile Multi-Relay Output for Fire System Expansion

The Honeywell IDP-CONTROL-6 is a six-relay output control module designed to provide reliable and addressable control over external devices in a fire alarm system. With its capacity to operate multiple circuits from a single module, it offers unmatched flexibility for large-scale or complex applications.

Key Features

Six Individually Addressable Relays
This module includes six Form-C relay contacts, each addressable and independently controlled. As a result, users can program each relay to activate specific functions, such as elevator recall, fan shutdown, or door release.

Compact and Efficient Design
Despite its high capacity, the IDP-CONTROL-6 fits into a standard-sized enclosure. This saves space and simplifies planning during installation. Additionally, it reduces the number of modules needed for multi-point control applications.

LED Indicators for Each Relay
Each output has a dedicated LED that illuminates when the relay is activated. These indicators enhance troubleshooting efficiency by allowing technicians to verify relay status at a glance.

Fully Supervised Outputs
The module continuously supervises each output circuit for wiring faults. If an issue arises, the fire alarm control panel is immediately notified, allowing for prompt maintenance or corrective action.

Application and Usage

This device is ideal for applications requiring multiple control outputs within a single enclosure. For instance:

• Activating fire doors or smoke dampers

• Triggering visual or audible notification appliances

• Shutting down air handling units or other HVAC systems

• Releasing magnetic door holders

By consolidating these functions into one module, the IDP-CONTROL-6 increases efficiency and reduces wiring complexity.

Installation Tips

For best results:

• Mount the module in a UL-listed enclosure near the controlled equipment.

• Clearly label each relay connection to avoid confusion during testing or servicing.

• Program and test each relay individually through the compatible Honeywell fire alarm panel.

• Always follow the manufacturer’s wiring guidelines and local code requirements.

Routine inspection is also recommended to ensure long-term reliability.

Advantages

• Multi-Point Output: Control up to six devices independently using a single module.

• Space-Saving Design: Reduces the number of modules and enclosures needed.

• Clear Feedback: LED indicators provide immediate status confirmation for each relay.

• Reliable Supervision: Faults are detected and reported in real-time.

• Flexible Integration: Compatible with various fire alarm panels using the IDP protocol.
