Fike 63-1052 Smoke Detector

The Fike 63-1052 is an addressable smoke detector designed to provide dependable early fire detection in commercial and industrial fire alarm systems. Its sensing chamber uses the light scattering principle to detect smoke from a broad range of fire conditions while incorporating chamber features that help minimize the effects of settled dust.

The detector uses Fike peer to peer digital communication for fast and reliable exchange of device status information. Operating parameters are stored in nonvolatile memory within the detector, allowing onboard processing of sensitivity, alarm, pre alarm, environmental compensation, and other detection functions.

Detection and Sensitivity

The detector supports separate day and night alarm sensitivity settings with adjustable thresholds from approximately 1.3 to 3.6 percent per foot obscuration. Dual pre alarm thresholds can be configured between approximately 0.5 and 4.0 percent per foot obscuration.

Configurable operating functions include alarm verification, drift compensation, two pre alarm levels, walk test, device summing, acclimate operation, remote annunciation, and day and night sensitivity.

Status Indication

The 63-1052 incorporates a tri color LED that provides immediate visual indication of detector status. This assists technicians with system commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.

An optional Fike 02-3868 remote LED annunciator can also be connected. The remote indicator can be configured to follow the detector LED or operate independently depending on system programming.

Physical and Environmental Information

Its diameter is approximately 6.1 inches with the 63-1054 flanged base or 4.1 inches with the 63-1055 flangeless base. Detector weight is approximately 5.2 ounces.

The specified operating voltage is 15 to 30 VDC, with a relative humidity range of 10 percent to 93 percent noncondensing. Fike documentation specifies an operating temperature range of 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit for the 63-1052. Maximum listed air velocity is 4,000 feet per minute.

Approvals and Listings

Fike documentation identifies the 63-1052 with UL S911, FM approval, MEA 7-05-E, and CSFM 7272-2010:0100. Detector spacing is specified in accordance with NFPA 72 requirements.
