Edwards WG4WF-HVMHC Wall or Ceiling Mount Horn Strobe

The Edwards WG4WF-HVMHC is a white WG4 Series high-candela horn strobe designed for indoor and outdoor fire alarm notification applications. It combines a high-output piezoelectric horn with a clear-lens strobe in a rugged, weather-resistant enclosure suitable for demanding environments. The WG4WF-HVMHC configuration features a white housing, FIRE marking, and selectable high-candela output, and is designed for wall or ceiling mounting.

The appliance operates from a nominal 24 VDC or 24 VFWR Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC). Field-selectable horn pattern, horn volume, strobe mode, and candela settings allow the device to be configured for the specific audible and visual requirements of the protected space.

High-Candela Visual Notification

The WG4WF-HVMHC is the high-output strobe version of the WG4 horn strobe family. It provides four selectable candela settings for indoor UL 1971 applications:

• 102 cd
• 123 cd
• 147 cd
• 161 cd

The candela setting is selected using an internal switch and remains visible through a sealed viewing window after installation. This allows the device to be configured for different room sizes, mounting heights, and visibility requirements.

Outdoor Strobe Output

Strobe output varies under extreme environmental conditions. Edwards publishes reduced-output values for outdoor and low-temperature operation:

At −35°C (UL 1638):

• 41 cd
• 50 cd
• 60 cd
• 65 cd

At −40°C (CAN/ULC):

• 11 cd
• 14 cd
• 17 cd
• 18 cd

These values are separate from the standard indoor UL 1971 ratings and are used for environmental performance considerations.

Horn Operation

The WG4WF-HVMHC includes a 3.2 kHz piezoelectric horn.

Factory configuration:

• Pattern: Temporal (Temporal 3)
• Volume: High

Field configuration options:

• High or low volume selection (approx. 5 dB difference)
• Temporal or continuous/coded operation via jumper settings

This allows the appliance to be adapted for different evacuation strategies and code requirements.

Audible Output

Typical UL 464 sound output levels at 24 V:

• Continuous High: 94.7 dBA
• Continuous Low: 89.5 dBA
• Temporal High: 90.5 dBA
• Temporal Low: 85.4 dBA

Actual sound levels vary based on installation conditions such as room acoustics, mounting height, and ambient noise.

Temporal & Continuous Signaling

• Horn is factory set to Temporal 3 pattern
• Can be configured for continuous/coded operation
• Strobe is factory set for continuous operation
• Optional temporal flash mode available for specific applications (not ULC listed in some configurations)

Synchronization

The WG4WF-HVMHC supports Edwards Genesis synchronization protocols. When used with compatible control modules or power supplies, multiple strobes can flash in synchronized operation.

Compatible devices may include:

• SIGA-CC1S / GSA-CC1S
• SIGA-CC2A / SIGA-MCC1S
• Compatible booster power supplies
• Fire alarm control panels with built-in sync capability

Synchronization performance is designed to meet UL timing requirements when properly installed.
