Bosch F220-P Photoelectric Smoke Detector

The Bosch F220-P is a photoelectric smoke detector designed for commercial and residential fire alarm applications. The Bosch F220-P utilizes advanced photoelectric sensing technology to provide reliable detection of visible smoke particles associated with slow-smoldering fires. Therefore, it offers dependable fire protection while minimizing nuisance alarms caused by dust and environmental contaminants. The detector is compatible with Bosch F220 Series detector bases and can be installed in a wide range of conventional fire alarm systems.

Bosch F220-P Function

The Bosch F220-P continuously monitors the surrounding air for the presence of smoke particles. As a result, it can provide early warning of developing fire conditions before flames become widespread. In addition, the detector communicates alarm status through compatible Bosch detector bases and fire alarm control panels, helping ensure prompt occupant notification and emergency response.

Advanced Photoelectric Detection Technology

The F220-P utilizes a pulsed infrared light source and high-speed photodiode sensor within a specially designed optical chamber. Consequently, the detector responds quickly to visible smoke generated by smoldering fires while reducing susceptibility to false alarms. Furthermore, the symmetrical smoke chamber design allows 360-degree smoke entry for consistent detection performance.

CleanMe Maintenance Monitoring

The Bosch F220-P incorporates Bosch’s CleanMe® maintenance feature, which helps identify detector contamination before performance is affected. Therefore, maintenance personnel can quickly determine when cleaning is required. Additionally, this feature helps reduce service costs while maintaining optimal detector sensitivity and reliability.

Dual-Color LED Status Indicator

The detector includes a dual-color LED that provides visual status indication. As a result, personnel can easily verify normal operation, alarm conditions, and maintenance requirements. During normal operation, the LED flashes green periodically, while alarm conditions are indicated by a red LED. Furthermore, trouble conditions caused by excessive chamber contamination can be identified through specific LED flash patterns.

Flexible Two-Wire and Four-Wire Compatibility

The Bosch F220-P is compatible with both two-wire and four-wire Bosch F220 Series detector bases. Consequently, it can be integrated into a variety of conventional fire alarm system designs. Moreover, this flexibility simplifies system upgrades and replacement projects.

Compatible Bosch Detector Bases

The F220-P is designed for use with:

• Bosch F220-B6 Two-Wire Detector Base
• Bosch F220-B6R Four-Wire Detector Base with Relay
• Bosch F220-B6RS Four-Wire Detector Base with Sounder

Therefore, system designers can select the appropriate base configuration for the specific application requirements.
