Simplex 4906-9128 Ceiling Horn Strobe Red

The Simplex 4906-9128 is a ceiling-mounted audible/visible notification appliance designed for commercial fire alarm systems requiring synchronized horn and strobe operation. The Simplex 4906-9128 combines a high-output electronic horn with a multi-candela xenon strobe in a durable red housing, providing dependable emergency notification for commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, and institutional facilities. Therefore, it is an excellent solution for applications requiring both audible and visual occupant notification.

Simplex 4906-9128 Function

The 4906-9128 is designed to provide synchronized audible and visual notification during fire alarm events. As a result, building occupants receive both an audible horn signal and a synchronized flashing strobe to indicate emergency conditions. In addition, the appliance operates on Simplex SmartSync® two-wire notification appliance circuits, allowing independent horn silence while the strobe continues flashing until system reset.

SmartSync® Notification Technology

The Simplex 4906-9128 utilizes SmartSync® technology to synchronize both horn and strobe operation throughout the notification appliance circuit. Consequently, multiple appliances flash simultaneously at a 1 Hz rate while allowing selective horn control through compatible Simplex fire alarm control panels. Furthermore, SmartSync operation simplifies wiring by supporting horn and strobe functions on the same two-wire circuit.

Multi-Candela Strobe Output

The integrated xenon strobe features field-selectable light output, allowing installers to configure the appliance for various room sizes and occupancy requirements. Available candela settings include:

• 15 Candela
• 30 Candela
• 75 Candela
• 110 Candela

Therefore, a single appliance can satisfy multiple installation requirements while reducing inventory needs.

High-Performance Electronic Horn

The appliance incorporates a low-current electronic horn designed to provide clear emergency notification. As a result, occupants receive effective audible warning in commercial environments. Additionally, the horn supports:

• Temporal Code 3
• March Time (60 BPM)
• Continuous Tone

These field-selectable operating modes provide flexibility for different fire alarm system designs.

Ceiling-Mount Installation

The Simplex 4906-9128 is designed specifically for ceiling-mounted applications using standard 4-inch electrical boxes. Consequently, it provides uniform sound distribution and visual coverage throughout protected spaces. Furthermore, the ceiling-mounted design is ideal for open offices, classrooms, corridors, healthcare facilities, and commercial occupancies.

Rugged Red Housing

The appliance features a flame-retardant, high-impact thermoplastic housing finished in red for easy fire alarm identification. Therefore, it withstands demanding commercial environments while maintaining an attractive appearance. Additionally, the impact-resistant construction helps protect the appliance against accidental damage and vandalism.

Compatible Simplex Systems

The Simplex 4906-9128 is compatible with numerous Simplex fire alarm systems utilizing SmartSync notification circuits, including:

• Simplex 4006
• Simplex 4007ES Hybrid
