The Siemens XTRI-S Single Input Monitor Module P/N: S54370-B3-A1 is an intelligent addressable interface module designed for compatible Siemens fire alarm systems. It interfaces a single dry-contact initiating or supervisory device with the system’s addressable device loop.

The XTRI-S can monitor either a normally open (N.O.) or normally closed (N.C.) dry contact and report its status to the fire alarm control panel. It also incorporates dual built-in isolators for enhanced signaling-line circuit survivability.

Single Input Monitoring

The XTRI-S provides:

Normally Closed (N.C.)

dry contacts.

The module monitors and reports the condition of the connected contact to the compatible Siemens fire alarm control panel. Unlike the XTRI-R, the XTRI-S does not include an addressable Form C output relay.

Dry Contact Applications

The XTRI-S can interface compatible direct-shorting devices with the Siemens addressable loop.

Addressable Operation

The XTRI-S operates as an individually identifiable device on the Siemens device loop.

This allows the fire alarm system to associate the monitored contact with a specific programmed point and location.

Dual Built-In Isolators

The XTRI-S incorporates dual built-in line isolators.

When configured in isolator mode, the isolators operate on both sides of the module and can isolate a line short occurring either before or after the device.

This helps maintain communication with unaffected portions of the addressable loop during certain short-circuit conditions.

In isolator mode, the dual isolators provide short-circuit protection on both sides of the module.

This architecture can support enhanced signaling-line circuit survivability in compatible Siemens systems.

Polarity-Insensitive Operation

When isolation is not required, the XTRI-S can operate in polarity-insensitive mode.

This provides additional wiring flexibility because the module can communicate properly without requiring polarity-sensitive loop connections in the applicable configuration.

Multi-Color LED

The XTRI-S incorporates a multi-color status LED.

Typical indications include:

Green: Normal supervisory operation

Yellow: Device trouble

Red: Locate or alarm condition

No Flash: No power or device replacement required

The LED provides local visual indication of module and monitored circuit status.

Electronic Address Programming

The XTRI-S supports electronic device programming using the Siemens:
