The Mircom MIX-FC351AP Advanced Multi-Criteria Fire/CO Detector provides intelligent fire and carbon monoxide detection for compatible Mircom addressable fire alarm systems. It combines photoelectric smoke, thermal, infrared (IR), and carbon monoxide (CO) sensing technologies in a single detector to provide comprehensive life-safety monitoring.
Advanced detection algorithms analyze information from the multiple sensors to improve response to real fire conditions while providing a high level of immunity to nuisance alarms. The detector also provides a separate CO detection signal, allowing compatible systems to distinguish between fire and carbon monoxide events.
Multi-Criteria Fire and CO Detection
The MIX-FC351AP monitors the major signatures associated with fire using photoelectric, thermal, infrared, and CO sensing. It includes 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature heat detection and can transmit analog smoke and carbon monoxide information to the compatible fire alarm control panel.
The multi-sensor design is particularly useful in environments where nuisance particles could cause unwanted alarms with simpler single-sensor detection methods.
Key Features
- Photoelectric, thermal, infrared, and CO sensing
- Separate carbon monoxide detection signal
- 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature heat detection
- Automatic smoke and CO drift compensation
- RealTest® CO testing capability
- 10-year CO cell with end-of-life monitoring
Advanced Protocol Operation
The Mircom MIX-FC351AP operates using Mircom Advanced Protocol (AP) and supports individual point addressing through rotary switches. Mircom specifies up to 159 point addresses on compatible systems. Unlike some other Mircom AP devices, the MIX-FC351AP does not support CLIP mode.
The detector operates from 15–32 VDC with approximately 200 µA operating current at 24 VDC. It also includes two panel-controlled LEDs that can provide red, green, or amber status indication.
Sounder Base Compatibility
The MIX-FC351AP is recommended for use with the APB200-WH intelligent sounder base or APB200-LF-WH low-frequency sounder base. Compatible sounder bases can provide different audible patterns for fire and CO events, including Temporal 3 for fire and Temporal 4 for carbon monoxide notification.
When installed in an APB200-style base, the detector measures approximately 2.7 inches high × 6.875 inches in diameter and weighs approximately 3.4 oz. (95 g).
