Gamewell-FCI GWPID-95P Point Identification Device

The Gamewell-FCI GWPID-95P, documented by the manufacturer as the PID-95P, is an addressable Point Identification Device designed to interface non-powered, normally open dry-contact devices with compatible Gamewell-FCI fire alarm control panels. It monitors one supervised Style B input circuit and provides individual point identification over the analog signaling line circuit.

The plate-mounted PID-95P can be installed in surface or flush-mount configurations and incorporates a visible LED for alarm annunciation. It is designed for use with Gamewell-FCI 600 Series and ILI95-E3 Series addressable fire alarm systems.

Product Functions

• Monitors normally open dry-contact devices
• Provides one supervised Style B input circuit
• Provides individual point identification
• Reports monitored device activation to the control panel
• Supports manual pull station monitoring
• Supports sprinkler waterflow switch monitoring
• Provides local LED alarm annunciation
• Supports field-programmable addressing
• Provides priority interrupt capability
• Interfaces conventional contact devices with the SLC
• Helps reduce conventional field wiring
• Supports commercial addressable fire alarm systems

Dry Contact Monitoring

The GWPID-95P is designed to monitor non-powered, normally open dry-contact devices. Typical monitored equipment includes manual fire alarm stations, sprinkler waterflow switches, and other compatible contact-type initiating devices.

When the connected device activates, the module detects the contact change and reports its individual address to the compatible fire alarm control panel. The panel can then initiate the alarm outputs programmed for that point.

Point Identification

The GWPID-95P allows conventional contact devices to become individually identifiable points within an addressable fire alarm system.

Rather than routing each conventional monitored device back to centralized input equipment, PID-95P modules can be distributed closer to the equipment being monitored. Gamewell-FCI notes that this approach can significantly reduce field wiring on many projects.

System Communication

The PID-95P interfaces with the fire alarm system through the analog signaling line circuit and communicates device activation back to compatible Gamewell-FCI control equipment.

Manufacturer documentation identifies compatibility with:

• Gamewell-FCI 600 Series
• Gamewell-FCI ILI95-E3 Series

This allows the module to provide supervised input monitoring while maintaining individual point identification at the control panel.

Programming & Addressing

The GWPID-95P is field programmable using a DIP switch located on the device’s printed circuit board.

The DIP switch is used to configure the device address, while DIP switch 8 controls the priority interrupt function. Additional system programming is completed through the compatible fire alarm control panel or programming interface.

Priority Interrupt

The GWPID-95P supports priority interrupt, allowing the device to provide prioritized event communication within the supported Gamewell-FCI system architecture.

This feature is configured through the onboard DIP switch arrangement and can be applied according to the requirements of the monitored initiating device and system programming.

Status Indication

The GWPID-95P includes a visible LED for local alarm annunciation.

The LED provides technicians with visual confirmation of an active monitored point, making it useful during commissioning, inspection, functional testing, troubleshooting, and routine fire alarm maintenance.

Installation Information

The PID-95P is the plate-mounted version of the PID-95 Point Identification Device. It is supplied on a 4.688-inch plastic plate and can be installed in surface or flush-mount configurations.

Supported mounting arrangements include a 4 × 4.688-inch double-gang backbox and a 4-inch square backbox. Gamewell-FCI also identifies the 70839 trim ring for flush-mounted PID-95P installations.

Physical & Environmental Information

The PID-95P is specified for an operating temperature range of 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C) and relative humidity up to 93% non-condensing.

Testing & Maintenance

Routine testing should verify proper operation of both the GWPID-95P and the connected dry-contact device.

Testing should confirm contact activation, Style B circuit supervision, correct address reporting, LED annunciation, programmed system response, priority interrupt operation where used, and proper restoration to normal status.
