Eaton ELSTR Wall LED Strobe

The Eaton ELSTR Wall LED Strobe is a visible fire alarm notification appliance from Eaton’s Wheelock Eluxa family. It combines energy-efficient LED technology with a low-profile wall-mount design and six field-selectable candela settings. The ELSTR has a red housing, clear lens, and FIRE lettering.

The appliance is designed for indoor 24V notification appliance circuits and can be used in both new fire alarm installations and compatible retrofit applications.

LED Strobe Technology

The ELSTR uses advanced LED technology as its visual light source.

Eaton states that the Eluxa platform is designed for low current draw across its candela range. Reduced power consumption can allow more appliances per notification circuit while helping reduce power-supply and battery requirements.

The Eluxa product line is also UL/ULC listed for compatibility with fire alarm control panels and accessories determined to be compatible with Wheelock RSS xenon and Exceder LED3 strobe products. This makes the ELSTR useful for both retrofit and new-construction applications.

Low-Profile Design

The Eluxa wall-mount platform is designed with a compact, low-profile enclosure. Eaton states that wall appliances extend approximately 1.18 inches from the wall, helping reduce the visual profile of the notification appliance.

The ELSTR itself is approximately 4.54 inches high × 2.78 inches wide, according to Eaton’s official product specifications.

Installation Information

The ELSTR includes a mounting plate with a capture-hinge design that can hold the appliance during installation. Eaton also provides pre-wire/pre-test capability, allowing field wiring and ground faults to be checked before the finished strobe is installed.

Candela selection is performed using finger-operated slide switches and does not require a special tool. The wall version uses a compact single-gang mounting design.
