The Eaton ELHSWC FIRE Ceiling LED Horn Strobe is an indoor audible/visible fire alarm notification appliance. It combines an electronic horn with an energy-efficient LED strobe in a white ceiling-mount housing with FIRE lettering and a clear Lexan lens.
The ELHSWC operates on 24V notification appliance circuits and provides six selectable candela settings plus three horn-pattern options, allowing one appliance to accommodate a variety of fire and emergency signaling requirements.
Product Functions
- Provides audible and visible fire alarm notification
- Combines electronic horn and LED strobe
- Designed for ceiling mounting
- White housing with FIRE lettering
- Clear Lexan strobe lens
- Six selectable candela settings
- Continuous, T3, and T3/T4 horn patterns
- High/low audible settings
- Supports synchronized notification
- Operates on 24V notification circuits

Selectable Candela
The ELHSWC provides six field-selectable ceiling strobe settings:
15 cd
30 cd
75 cd
110 cd
150 cd
177 cd.
This combines both lower- and higher-intensity visual notification settings in one ceiling appliance.
LED Strobe Technology
The ELHSWC uses LED technology as its visual light source. Eaton designed the product family for low current consumption, helping increase the number of notification appliances that can be supported on a circuit and potentially reducing power-supply requirements.
The strobe uses a rugged clear Lexan lens and is intended for synchronized visible fire alarm notification.
Horn Operation
The electronic horn provides three signaling patterns:
Continuous
Temporal 3 (T3)
Temporal 3 / Temporal 4 (T3/T4).
The T3/T4 capability allows compatible systems to provide distinct fire and carbon-monoxide signaling patterns from the same appliance.
Eaton lists a sound level of approximately 86 dBA for the ELHSWC.
Synchronized Operation
The ELHSWC supports synchronized horn/strobe operation with compatible Wheelock synchronization equipment and power supplies.
Synchronization coordinates compatible notification appliances so their visible flashes and applicable audible signals operate together.
FIRE Configuration
The specific ELHSWC configuration is:
Housing: White
Lettering: FIRE
Lens: Clear
Light Source: LED
Mounting: Ceiling
Voltage: 24V
Environment: Indoor.
The ceiling version uses different candela options from the corresponding wall-mounted ELHSW.
Electrical & Notification Information
Nominal Voltage: 24V
Candela: 15 / 30 / 75 / 110 / 150 / 177 cd
Maximum Listed Strobe Current: Up to 0.185 A DC, depending on candela setting
Horn Patterns: Continuous / T3 / T3-T4
Sound Level: 86 dBA
Notification: Audible / Visible
Strobe Technology: LED.
Actual notification appliance circuit calculations should use the current corresponding to the selected candela, horn setting, and system configuration.
Installation Information
The ELHSWC includes a mounting plate with a capture-hinge design that helps hold the appliance during installation. Eaton also provides pre-wire/pre-test capability, allowing wiring and ground-fault checks before the finished horn strobe is installed.
Compatible ceiling mounting options include LSPKBB-C backboxes and common 4-inch square or 4-inch octagonal electrical boxes of the specified depth. Settings are adjusted using finger-operated switches without requiring special tools.
