The Wheelock ELSTWC Ceiling LED Strobe is an indoor visible notification appliance from Eaton’s Wheelock Eluxa family. It uses energy-efficient LED technology and is designed for ceiling-mounted fire alarm applications requiring synchronized visual notification. Eaton identifies the ELSTWC with a white housing, clear lens, FIRE lettering, and selectable 15, 30, 75, 110, 150, or 177 candela output.
Product Functions

Selectable Candela
The ELSTWC provides six field-selectable ceiling strobe settings:
15 cd
30 cd
75 cd
110 cd
150 cd
177 cd.
This allows one appliance model to support different visible-notification coverage requirements.
LED Strobe Technology
The ELSTWC uses LED technology rather than a traditional xenon flash tube.
Eaton describes the Eluxa family as energy efficient, with reduced current draw intended to help minimize power-supply requirements and circuit loading.
The product is also designed so compatible LED and legacy xenon strobes may be used within the same field of view when the applicable Wheelock synchronization requirements are followed.
Synchronized Operation
The ELSTWC supports Wheelock synchronized strobe operation.
Eaton specifies compatibility with synchronization sources including:
DSM Sync Modules
PS Power Supplies
SAFEPATH products.
Synchronization coordinates multiple strobes so they flash together rather than independently.
FIRE Configuration
The specific ELSTWC model is configured with:
Housing Color: White
Lens: Clear
Lettering: FIRE
Mounting: Ceiling
Lamp Type: LED.
Other ELSTWC variants are available with ALERT, EVACUATE, no lettering, and colored lenses.
Electrical Information
Published Eaton specifications identify:
Nominal System: 24V
Operating Range: 16–33 VDC/VFWR
Maximum Published DC Current: 0.185 A
Candela: 15 / 30 / 75 / 110 / 150 / 177 cd
Wire Range: #12–18 AWG.
Actual notification circuit calculations should use the current value applicable to the selected candela setting and system configuration.
Installation Information
The ELSTWC uses a ceiling mounting plate and supports several common electrical-box arrangements.
Eaton documentation identifies compatible ceiling mounting with:
LSPKBB-C backboxes
4-inch square boxes, 1½ or 2⅛ inches deep
4-inch octagonal boxes, 1½ or 2⅛ inches deep.
The appliance also provides pre-wire/pre-test capability and IN/OUT screw terminals for #12–18 AWG conductors.
