The System Sensor D2 designed for air duct systems used to sense the presence of smoke in the duct. Model D2 Duct Smoke Detector utilizes photoelectric technology for the detection of smoke. This detection method, when combined with an efficient housing design, samples air passing through the duct allowing detection of a hazardous condition. Furthermore, an alarm signal is initiated and appropriate action can be taken to shut off fans, blowers, change over air handling systems. These actions can facilitate the management of toxic smoke as well as fire gases throughout the areas served by the duct system.
This new System Sensor D2 duct smoke detector senses airflow speeds that range from 100 to 4,000 feet per minute. Also, the enhancements built into this model improve false alarm immunity (with plug-in sensor head); broaden operating temperature and humidity ranges.
This duct smoke detector has signals to indicate trouble and maintenance conditions. Additionally, a cover tamper feature incorporated to indicate a trouble condition for removed or improperly installed sensor cover. Furthermore, an improved cover design isolates the sensor head from the low-flow technology for simple maintenance.
